Kettell Video Productions updates to a fast-turnaround 4K workflow

Kettell Video Productions has upgraded its video workflow, choosing a fast-turnaround 4K (UHD) acquisition, production, delivery and archive solution, which could be supported end to end. The system was designed, configured and installed by reseller, Altered Images.

Videographer and editor, Stuart Kettell, has specialised in providing corporate and wedding video services for many years. Altered Images was able to deliver a personal and hands-on approach for Kettell Video Productions, providing full system pre-build check and on-site installation, plus supporting Stuart with training on how everything worked as it was put together. The new system has provided the company with a very efficient way of working, plus the confidence that comes with full engineering and technical support.

Stuart chose the Canon C300 Mk2 camera, teamed with a matching pair of Canon lenses, specifically the Canon CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 Cine and the Canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S. Altered Images also suggested ZSG-C10 zoom grips to enable a more traditional broadcast lens feel, plus the Shape EVFR rig to mount various accessories. These included a Shape MATTEBOX 4X4, Atomos Shogun Inferno for monitoring and recording, plus a Zacuto Gratical X high-quality eye piece that allowed Stuart to achieve accurate framing and focus whilst recording in 4K (UHD). Stuart also updated to the latest Avid Media Composer software and HP workstation, with Blackmagic Design’s UltraStudio 4K Extreme used for IO to enable a 4K (UHD) output to the TVLogic LUM-240G monitor. Media is backed up to LTO storage using PresSTORE software, with all equipment housed in an AKA Design ProLite desk.
