Infinity Archive
Infinity Archive is a scalable digital archiving system that solves the problems faced by media and entertainment organisations generated from the industry move to file-based media and rapid growth in content capacity.
Traditionally organisations have created archives on video tapes which, despite providing an archive, are difficult to search and restore assets from in a timely manner. The industry's move to file-based and high-resolution content and workflows has also presented new challenges, not least of which is a need for ever-increasing data storage capacity. Conventionally organisations have looked to generic disk based solutions to satisfy their need for digital storage, but the reliability of low-cost SATA drives and concerns regarding the total cost of ownership (TCO) are making technical managers think twice about implementing such systems.
Global Distribution's Infinity Archive systems solve these problems by amalgamating cost-effective disk storage with data tape technology to provide both on-line, near-line and long-term (off-line) digital archiving. By combining the speed and capacity of hard disk drives, and the longevity of digital data tape, Infinity Archive utilises the very best of both technologies to provide a solution for production, news, asset management and playout workflows.
